Connexa—meaning connection—is a community space designed for construction workers in Dubai. It serves as a complementary facility to existing labor camps and includes areas for rest, learning, recreation, and social interaction. The aim is to improve workers' quality of life by providing a community where they can access support, engage in personal growth, enjoy recreation, and connect with one another.
As Dubai’s construction sector continues to grow—driven by over 500,000 workers who help shape the city—many still face long hours, isolation, and limited access to supportive environments. Connexa presents an opportunity to address this by offering thoughtful, human-centered spaces that enhance their overall well-being.
All materials used in this community space were sourced from waste generated at construction sites and repurposed to build and furnish the space—emphasizing a strong commitment to sustainability and resource-conscious design.
